Professional Background
I grew up in a family that had interest in many varied forms
of traditional art. Despite my efforts at rebelling against
being like my family, I ended up showing an interest in the
arts with writing, sketching, photography and music. In addition,
I have been around computers from a very young age. My mother
will often revert to the story of her boss allowing me to
pound on his keyboard at the office as soon as I was able
to hold my head up. Mind you, this was back in the 70's,
far before there was a computer in almost every house in
the US.
In late 1996, I signed on as a Remote Host with the AOL Games
Channel. As such, I was not only supposed to monitor the folks
that were in chats throughout my assigned area, but also to
make sure that the look and feel of my area stayed fresh. This
is where my adventure in code analysis and digital art began.
Since the days of AOL 3.0, I've worked my way up the ladder
in all aspects of web design and development. My preferred
development environment is a blend of Cold Fusion (utilizing
either Access or SQL Server databases), HTML and CSS. I can
also code within Classic ASP, ASP.NET, Java and CGI environments
when necessary. Currently I utilize Adobe CS3 applications
for development and design work (Dreamweaver and Photoshop
stay open daily), and I'm also comfortable using Image Ready,
Illustrator or Freehand. I've had some experience with Flash,
Flex and other supporting programs and utilities as well. My
preferred platform usage is Windows 2000 or XP and I do have
experience with Windows based server technology including IIS.
